Learning that ends in real work
Proficient isn't a score in a course. It's what a person does in their real job. So the Field agent takes the skill into their actual week, and the work itself becomes the proof.
How a mission works
Four steps, around one real moment in the person's week.
- 01
The moment is found
The Field agent looks at the person's week, their projects and their goals, and picks a real moment to use the skill.
- 02
They prepare
A short brief, a plan for the moment, and an if-then for when it goes off script.
- 03
They do it for real
No simulation: a real meeting, a real email, a real decision.
- 04
They debrief
Two minutes afterwards, the agent asks what happened, and turns the answer into the next step.
Thursday's meeting becomes the lesson
The agent finds the client meeting already in the person's calendar, prepares them for the part that matters, and follows up when it's over. What happened shapes what comes next.
- Missions chosen from real work, never invented
- Prepared in minutes, not hours
- A debrief that feeds the plan the same night
Missions for every use case
The same four steps, wherever the skill is used.
| Use case | Skill | A mission |
|---|---|---|
| AI adoption | AI in client work | Prepare Thursday's client meeting with an AI assistant, without sharing client data. |
| Leadership | Giving feedback | Give one piece of feedback in this week's one-to-one, using the behavior-impact model. |
| Sales & client | Negotiation | Set a walk-away point before the renewal call, and hold it. |
| Change | Leading through change | Explain the new process to the team on Monday, and answer the three hardest questions. |
| Onboarding | Ready for the new role | Run the weekly team meeting without your manager in the room. |
| Compliance & risk | Data privacy | Review this month's client files for personal data before they're shared. |
The work is the proof, and the manager confirms it
When the missions show the skill holds in real work, the manager gets a short check-in with the evidence in front of them. Their confirmation is what makes the level Proficient.
- Evidence from real work, not from a test
- A 15-minute check-in for the manager
- The level held only when the manager confirms it
